A Juno Award-winning electro-pop artist, iskwē, which translates to “blue sky woman,” spotlights the importance and plight of Indigenous peoples and territories in Canada. Her command of music styles includes jazz, R&B, industrial pop-rock, post-rock, and trip-hop. Centuries of historic injustice, systemic racism, and environmental degradation fuel her powerful lyrics.
The Bing Studio will be transformed into a visual installation to be experienced prior to the concert. Then, in the concert hall, indigenous instrumentation and vocalizations will merge with projected video and live movement to create a unique and intensely visceral concert experience.
