Stay With Me
STAY WiTH ME
Stay With Me, created and directed by Nicole von Arx, is an evening-length dance-theatre performance born as the world slowly emerged from the isolation of the pandemic. This intimate work reflects on what it means to reconnect with one another, with our bodies, and with the versions of ourselves we left behind.
Through dance, theatricality, pre-recorded text, and moments of audience participation, Stay With Me invites viewers into a shared space of longing, remembrance, and presence. Performed by a cast of five, the work drifts between lightness and gravity, nostalgia and play, loss and hope. It is both a love letter and a goodbye to the innocence we had before, to those we’ve lost along the way, and to parts of ourselves that no longer serve us.
As the performers reach toward each other in moments of raw physicality and tender gesture, Stay With Me asks its audience not only to witness, but to engage and stay present. In reconnecting with long-time collaborators and reawakening a sense of touch, freedom, and vulnerability, the piece becomes a gentle offering and a reminder to carry forward the playful instincts we once knew, while releasing what we’ve outgrown.
